So, i hear what you're saying, but i think they may be consciously trying to get it together. Well, lo and behold, i got an email today from the same guy telling me that the surface one is in the final rounds of testing and to check the website soon. after sending that email, i received an autoresponder stating that someone would get back to me within 36 hours. i also asked, in passing, when, if ever, the vapor one - er - surface one was going to be released. i wrote the guy back, said thanks but no thanks.

so, of course, just YESTERDAY i got an email from m-audio with some long elaborate instructions on how to fix the prob. in the meantime, i kept messing around with it and finally got the damn thing to work. tried all kinds of tweaks and tests, and finally gave in and filled out the lamo webform on their site.

i've got a keystation61 that runs fine on my desktop/winME system (i know, everyone thinks ME sucks, but it's somehow holding up for me), but failed to install on my XP laptop system. Hey, i hear ya on the crappy customer support from m-audio. I apologize for the long rant, but I think it is our duty as consumers to alert each other to questionable practices by equipment makers. I bought my copy of reason2 directly from the props becasue of this experience and I would reccommend that everybody think twice before investing in their products. I have purchased the Oxygen8, Midisport 2x2, and Ableton Live (which they distribute). They should have a toll-free number for that. Their support line is a long-distance toll call so I am not going to pay a phone bill to wait for them to help me with their product that does not work. I usually get a busy signal, I have gotten through twice but never talked to a live person after 15 minutes each time of holding. That was July 8th in the morning, it is Friday the 12th and i have received no response. I immediately e-mailed him back that day pointing out that he missed my question completely. essentially he is saying that two midiman midi products cannot work together in OSX, something NOT mentioned anywhere in their product descriptions. If I DID have a midisport 1x1, I would be pretty angry with that answer. Or you can get a Midisport 2x2 or 4x4 if you have more midi devices.Īs you can see he not only did not answer my question, he answered as though I had a midisport 1x1. So, that means that the best thing for you to do is go Midi out of the Oxygen 8 into the Midisport or one at a time. Yes, the Oxygen 8 and the Midisport 1x1 have and use the same driver. The Problem:I have downloaded the current osX drivers for both the oxygen 8 and the midisport 2X2 (they have the same file name, is it the same driver?) My iBook will not recognize the Midisport 2X2 in OSX, it does not even power-up. Midiman products used: Oxygen 8, Midisport 2X2 When I did receive an answer it looked as though the tech guy did not even read my e-mail.
I tried e-mailing Midiman did not receive an answer for over a week. I have had my roommate who is a programmer for a major DAW developer and is currently porting his app to OS X check it out. I have tried deleting the OS X drivers and re-installing twice. In OS X, I have never been able to get the Midisport to be recognized on either my iBook or my G4 PowerMac. I have been using both with no problem in 0S9. I have both a Midiman Midisport 2x2 and an Oxygen8. Thinking about buting a Midiman/ M-Audio product?
